What is our business?
Defining your business too narrowly has cost some worthy names dear in the past.
After the steam Engine came the IC engine and the automobile, but the horse cart manufacturers defined their business as just that and lost out whereas if they would have been among the leading names in Transportation if they had defined their business so.
Sony narrowly defined its business as music and lost out to the Apples and the Nokias in the entertainment and Communication space.
Even the redoubtable Microsoft and Bill underestimated the power of the internet and are playing catch up with Google.
In our own Publishing Industry books have lost out to TV Newspapers to News on the Net and Classifieds to the likes of eBay and Monster.com
